\"New\" X1 countdown thread needed??

I hope it is not a bad thing to start over on this LOOOOONG awaited light but the first countdown thread got unwieldy! Has anyone heard what the latest info is???

One of the dealers here recently told me that his distributor said "late 3rd quarter" aka in time for Christmas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I have no idea if this is actually true though. I hope it isn't.

I received an e-mail from Evan at TAD Gear yesterday...he told me that he'd just received an e-mail from Inova stating that he'll be receiving his shipment of X1's this week or next week...it's about f#!*&$ng time!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif We should begin seeing them within the next week or two. I never thought I'd find myself gettig this excited over a single 5mm lED light, but I'm really looking forward to getting the X1!

I'm looking forward to it too and hoping that someone already has their eyes on it for a luxeon mod!!! Sounds like a silly reason for wanting a particular light but I am waiting to make a sheath for this to mate with my Leatherman Wave. They are nearly the same length and will make a good match. (I am also having a leatherman juice and arc aaa sheath made as we speak.)

Funny you mention that... yes,,, I was Already thinking of modding the x1 to a 1W LS.! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually,, I was thinking of also modding my x5t to a 5W LS. Hey,,, the names are just begging for them!

I think the x5t would deffinately be the easier of the two to mod though.

I cant wait to get mine. I actually could have used it camping the other day,,, cuz I had my LSH-P out, and while down my the creek getting water, it was actually TOO bright! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Yeah, it seems to me it will be a great candidate for modding... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Please keep the title of the thread intact, it wil save a lot of people from unnesessary searches, thus keeping the bandwidth used down as much as possible.

Ok, seems that the X1 is being postponed until the 3rd Qtr 2003... I got this from one of my distributors, and he just re-confirmed it... Sigh...

I did talk to someone "in the know" a few weeks back who said the end of this month...

So, I have two conflicting reports. but... based on the past, I'll put money on the longer delay.

Yes, this is a pain, for all of us... I'm still taking pre-orders... but dont hold your breath...
