Yep, long time reader but first new thread.
I have always had an addiction for flashlights which was until recently satisfied by local store bought flashlights... well they are just not good enough or bright enough for me anymore...
I am sure I am stepping out on a slippery slope that ya'll are already on.
My first EDC that I picked up was a Nitecore Extreme special edition. Really love that light... everything but the clip (it is a cheap little thing that keeps bending on me).
My recent purchase was the Solarforce L1200 for $90. Yeah I know I wanted to go for something better but I have 2 little ones at home with another on the way. I have to watch the budget closely.
The Solarforce is a nice light. Way! brighter than anything else I own and seems pretty well put together. It has a pretty floody beam but still throws surprizingly far. I hate that it takes 3 18650's and only came with a cheap dual cell charger... I have to remedy that soon. So far I really like this light especially considering the price.
For those of you that have the L1200... mine came with the premium solarforce protected 18650's and I am wondering what maH these are? I am thinking of picking up some better cells when I get a new charger.
Also... After many searches on CPF I cannot find any mention of how long I should expect the bulb to last. I know it is cheap stuff but the bulb is $25 so I was hesitant to get this light in the first place. Anyone with any guesses as to how long bulb will last and are there alternative bulbs available?
Thanks,
Matt
