It was 14670 that fit in your quad bored FM-1185 holders....but that might work better than the 14500. Maybe a neodymium magnet?

Protection circuit added on 14650 cells make it 14670 which is about 2mm longer.
Yes but the ones you linked have protection added. Maybe AW's version was a bit thicker circuit. In any case this is a big help, Varooj because these will fit in your FM-85 quad bored holders with a small neodymium magnet spacer.

I still have about 10 of AW's 14670's, but they won't hold enough of a charge to power my quad bored FiveMega 1185. They did last a very long time. Sad we lost AW....but these 14650's will work with a small neodymum magnet in those holders.
Varooj, I may have misunderstood that these "Keepower" 14650 would need 2mm magnets, but with the protection circuit, they do actually measure 67mm, so these in effect now allow me to use your battery holders that I showed above for the 1185 setup. Thanks again for finding this unusual battery size. I love that light as I have a bunch of the deep, highly polished reflectors for great throw.
Also in my photos above, do you remember what was the difference between the CL-1909 first and second batches?
All bare batteries from different companies may have slightly different physical sizes. Length of bare (unprotected) 18650 from one company may have slight difference from different companies. This will apply for protection circuits too.
So some protected 14650 are 67mm and some maybe 68mm
Keeppower Protected 21700 is about 75mm long.
Are you refering to 1794 bulb (7V, 3A)? Second batches had some changes to height of fillament and slight change on voltage.
1909 never had any changes.
