newbie needs just a lil\' advice

hi all, been lurking for a few and am really facinated by the advances in flashtlight tech! just got a uk 4aa led and can't believe it gets any better than this. i'm quickly turning into a flashlight geek. i have no electronic skills but i'm ready to sacrafice my minimag to my own experiments. just looking to throw an led in it for starters. thinking very bright 5mm. what i need to know is, where is the best place to order from and what kind would you recomend? just taking baby steps, so don't worry, i'll do some research and ask q's when needed. thanks very much for your help and for a GREAT site.

ps. anybody know any good sites to go to for basic electronic tutoring?

Hey metaldogfish, welcome to CPF, and why dontcha stay awhile!

You'll see a lot of suggestions and help her, take a look in the customs section for ideas and tips, or search for any particular flashlight to find out what you can do with it.

welcome to CPF, fellow newbie here, i think your need's and wants are similar to mine when i was ready to mod my MM. I think the newbeam and terralux ministar2 are two good, easy way's to go, without actually taking out the switch of your light.
I have seen the newbeam, and own two terralux's, and like them a good deal. And there is the inratech, i have not seen that one.
You, like me, sound like you want to start without tearing up a light, so those three i think as a newbie myself, are good way's to go. VDG
