I have used a rechargable bare 123A cell for my Aleph-1 NG750 TXOJ for about 20minutes with good performance.

After that it suddenly flickered very fast in high mode with dimming. Immediately, I changed to low mode and there was no flickering. Again to high mode, there was flickering in high mode only.

I was said that there is some flickering problem from NG in low mode. But in high ?

My led is demaged ? or flickering is the signal of changing of bettery ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

...after 20 minutes? I'm 90% sure the battery was depletad. I tried a protected rechargeable 123A with NG917 TYAJ and it shut down after approx 20 minutes.

Here is a runtime of a NG1000 using a R123 , maybe your bare 123A rech. was not full charged ?

Yes, cell was new from factory.
I'm not saying about runtime. I want to know what is the flickering in high mod.
Demage of Led or flickering caused by depleted battery ?

When a converter falls out of regulation due to a depleted battery it often flickers. Try a new cell and you'll see. Damage to LED seems improbable but of course not impossible.
