NHRA using LED\'s

Watching the Winternationals on espn there is some hoopla over the new christmas tree. Talk of how much brighter the lights are as well as how much faster they ingite.

Don't say NHRA...that's a swear word to me

(I worked at a racetrack for 2 months as a ticket taker. I've seen enough drag racing)

Actually it wasn't that bad. I didn't see many LED lights except on the mini dragsters piloted by the kiddies--which were mainly lit either by a Minimag stuck in a holster attached to the roof

or one of those flashing LED reflectors.

Re: NHRA using LED\'s

I can see how that would be an issue. Drag strips has used incandescent flood lights for the tree's since the tree was invented (that sounds weird to say that). The flood lights light up WAY slower than the LED's. The professional drivers reaction time to the new LEDs must be way off, and they're probably thinking "what the?" because they can't react quick enough. Ah well? Any links to NHRA articles on the LEDs?
