I think I may have mentioned it at the time, but...

Just before Christmas, I had just parked my truck and was walking the 1/2 block to work (At that time I worked for a Major TV Network located right by Lincoln Center), when I passed this one Apt buildings Garbage Pile, and sitting, carefully on top (aka someone DIDN'T bag it and put it where someone would take it) was this toy

Yep - It's a Gerstner

Very nice, especially for the price. I wonder why someone would throw that away?

Believe it or not, the only marks on the inside were crayon marks - in that neighborhood (and the building it was found outside of), it's entirely possible it was a child's crayon box (Yes, it's an expensive building) - and it does have some scratches you know

My wife's Ex had left the strangest assortment of things when he moved out.

One of them was a chest that looked just like that. Excellent workmanship, nice finish, velvet liners, except...

Some unknown chemical had been spilled inside, causing a strange crystalline growth that spread up one side. Several of the drawers had what appeared to be gasket sealer pooled on the bottom. Others were dirtied with grease. It stank.

I decided the drawers were much too shallow to put most of my tools in. It was also too heavy to move easily.

So I tossed it.
