I had a triple luxeon 9W LED in a Night Lightning housing, which I sent in to Night Lightning for upgrading. Eric there did a great job basically setting me up with a custom iBlaast, a triple SSC with a Maxflex controller in a head with a great heat sink.

I got the light back today. I had a chance to compare it with Barb's HID Nightrider Storm, and I think the Night Lightning's at least as bright. It has a brighter centre point and a wider (but dimmer) overall throw, as compared with the Storm's smaller but even circle of light. Pretty much what you'd expect from 3SSCs, 10 degree optics and a Maxflex.

This light can now run with my Batteryspace lithium 7.2V lithium pack, any of my 3 Niterider NiMH packs, and my home-made 8AA lithium battery packs for long races when I can't recharge.

It's smaller and lighter than the previous version I used. They installed my Nightrider clip, so it fits all my existing helmet and handlebar attachments.
With the Maxflex, I have a ton of options for settings of course.

A great deal, and Eric was very flexible and helpful. This light does everything I could want.

Here's mine with 3 SSC P4 running @ 720 lumens:twothumbs
People at NightLightning are very helpful and polite.
Thanks Claire and Eric...

Hey I'm in Ont. as well. How much did you pay for that setup? Got a link to that light? Thanks mate.

BTW Sweet looking light. Now the question is if it's a 'all-weather' beast which someone will have to test that out.

I don't know how much the new iBlaast heads are, as mine was an upgrade. Eric was able to use some of my parts, and I already had batteries and chargers. I think the heads are around $200Can, but my upgrade was less.

The unit looks very weatherproof too- nice waterproof gland at the back, and O-rings up front.
