This summer I picked up a RadioShack AA charger and 8 NiMH batteries for my digital camera. Since the NiMH's are working out great I am planning on purchasing a dozen or 2 more NiMH's for a bunch of 4AA flashlights.
I did read a consumer reports article a way back saying Duracell and believe it or not Radio Shack alkaline batteries performed better than your other batteries. So from that time on I tried to purchase Duracell batteries even though they cost a little more.
What I am seeing is a tremendous price difference in AA NiMH batteries. For example, Radio Shack 19.99 a four pack, CCrane $2.29 each ($9.08/4) and another website that has them 89 cents each ($3.56/4) and these are all 1800 mAh AA's. Can someone please explain to this novice why the big price difference in NiMH batteries? Can I get away with the cheapies, or is it as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Do the cheapies last as long? Though there are bargins to be had on the net.
Thanks
