It just seems like I get a brighter beam out of the NiMHs than I do out of regular alkalines. Even the newer Alkalines (e2, D-ultra) look like they've only caught up to the light output of the NiMHs...

I'm using Sony's 1800mAh guys, and am wondering if anybody else is getting similar results from NiMH, and if they're better than alkalines for regular use in the 2AA model?

I think it would depend on how much amperage your bulb is pulling. On a high amp bulb, your NiMh's will probably win because their greater ability to expend current. On a lower drain lamp, the alkalines would probably take the lead because of their higher voltage. TX
