I'm looking for a nice flashlight. I have a few mag lites other LEDs and the nitecore mt21a. Should I add the nitecore ea8 to my collection or the Fenix ld41

I had a Fenix Tk41 that I sold and bought an Ea8. Both are great lights with about identical output and throw. I like the Ea8 better because- doesn't need a battery carrier, has a lower low mode, is shorter, tells battery level, the mode changing is better you can go to turbo or strobe instantly from any level. Both great torches, the cheaper Ea8 has more bells & whistles ;-)

Seems not bad. does this light have a constant 900 lumens output all the time?

Close. It has very slight stepdown. I've done a video review on the EA8 and Selfbuilt has the most extensive review over in the review section of the forum.

NEITHER!

ea8, seriously, you really wanna have to deal with maintaining 8 cells???

LD41, too big for a 4AA, has no moonlight, and at 520 lumens is just totally outclassed by the newer generation 4AA the best of which is the Sunwayman D40A which puts out 980 lumens, has direct access to moonlight, direct access to MAX

Maintaining 8 cells is easy with an 8 bay charger. The ea8 will smoke these new 4aa model lights when it comes to runtime & throw.
