The one thing the NDI was missing for me was a good clip. Luckily 4sevens started selling clips for the D10, which are made to fit a AA-sized barrell and come with screws and a backplate. If you have a steady hand with a drill or dremel, this makes for a perfect clip for the NDI.
The holes will fit just inside the solid portion of the lip on the tailcap without breaking through to the lanyard slots. I reassembled the light and tightened the tailcap down before installing the clip so that it wouldn't scratch the body as I twisted the tailcap on, and now I'll just do all my battery swaps through the head.
