Hi there, I'm a new member, and would like to jump straight in with a question, if I may ?
I've been using a Nitecore SRT5 Detective for a few years now, and am infact on my second of these flashlights. I use it when out fishing, when walking to and from my spots. When I arrive nearer the shore, I tend to use a dim headlamp, usually in 'red' mode.
However, it seems the Detective has been discontinued. I'd like to start to think about which alternative flashlight might be appropriate. Key features I like about the Detective model:
1) seems to handle getting wet.
2) the ability to easily adjust brightness.
3) the max brightness is great (750 lumens).
I'd like to find something that utilisés the same battery if possible, as I have spares (does that lock me in to the Nitecore brand ? Not as issue if it does). The Nitecore range seems pretty vast, and it's not clear to me which model might be a very close match to the Detective. I'd appreciate any advice.
