If anyone knows where I can get one or has one that would
fit available, shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

The Novatac uses the same size lens as a Aleph 19 .... 22.5mm x 1mm
I know that both KD and DX sell cheap 22mm aspherical lens.
Other than that try Surplushed

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

I've seen a few Fenix's sold here in the past with an Aspheric lens
installed.
So I'm sure there's something out there that would fit a Novatac. I can only imagine the results on my 120P :naughty:

TX101,

Thanks for the size info !!!!!!!!!!

:twothumbs

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

Im trying it right now

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

Tried it .... does not work with the lens I have (from DX)

I been messing about with aspherical lens in Maglites, for the best results
the reflector needs to be removed.
Also the focal distance between the emitter and the lens needs to be correct.
When this is correct the resulting beam will be a well defined square ... the
same shape as the emitter, like this

EDIT ..... The above photo is from a Mag/Aspherical setup

Methinks, this thread needs to be moved to the "Homemade" section :D

WOW, that looks nice!
Hows it look with the reflector removed?

Agreed on moving this thread to the Homemade Section!

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

Oooops ..... the last photo is from a "well-adjusted" Mag aspherical

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

I have not tried to remove the reflector on a Novatac yet

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

I managed to remove the reflector and tried it with the aspherical lens

Not very pretty is it :shakehead
The focus is way off and the Seoul emitter does not lend itself very well with
an aspherical lens ..... Crees in my experience work better.
With the reflector removed I used a spring from an SF lamp to hold the
aspherical lens in place thats why you see the bright outer rings around the
hotspot.
Notice the red tint around the hotspot ??? ..... thats the color of the heatsink :candle:

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

Does anyone know if there is a similar lens that would fit an EX10?

Re: WTB: Aspherical lens for a Novatac

TX101,

Thank you for all your testing and beamshots, it was greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like its going to be possible.
