Hello everyone,

I currently own a Magicshine light but before buying the magicshine i had a Duel head Marwi Viewpoint Halogen Lights, anyway the Magicshine blows them out of the water now so i hardly use them. But i was wondering if i could convert them into a direct drive LED's using SSC P7 C-Bin LED Emitter with 21mm Heat Sink Base http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12721 , With http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14599 as the Reflector

My battery pack is 7.4v, My question to everyone is can this be done direct drive without burning out the led's? if so how much light would be produced?

:welcome:

As another newbie in the midst of designing a light, this is a bit like the blind leading the blind, but...

I will be buying and modding the bullet shaped Marwi halogen units, but not with a P7.

Here is one link in these forums on Marwi P7:

You can Google for more.

If you have the funnel or bell shaped older style Marwi units, he has a heat sink and reflector solution. Links to his site exist in these threads. He is running 3.7 volts and resistors or a regultated system if he has restocked, that uses paired 1.4 A drivers (17 mm diameter). If the dies of the P7 can be powered in 2 pair in series, his resistor scheme should work in direct drive with different values.

He has been good with questions, and my order will be placed very soon.:twothumbs

If you have the more recent bullet style Marwi light, he has not worked out a solution, and you will be on your own as will I.

Hope this helps.:candle:

Yeah actually the lightheads are the older one's that i picked up from him a few months ago before he started selling the modded kit, Ive also picked up a few other items from him always a good experience while dealing with him. But I'm more interested in running a direct drive light dunno why i guess cause of the simplicity of the idea
