First, I'm a newb of newb's and learning as I go. I just bought a Northern Tool 2-C flashlight on sale for $14.99 (marked $19.99). It's not on their website for some reason. It has an aluminum body and is scalloped on both ends. I could care less about that, but it's not too bad as is. It has a very tight beam and not much spill. It does come apart quite nicely. The head unscrews and contains a built in reflector. Next, the entire LED housing unscrews from the rest of the body so it looks perfect for a mod. I don't have any idea what kind of LED it's using except that it's on a star base and rated at 120 lumens. I can't tell just by looking if there's a driver board or not. The star would have to be removed first to see what's under it. So, my questions is: What would be a good LED emitter and driver board to use to mod this flashlight? It would be my first mod, so the simpiler the better. Where can I purchase the parts? I'd like to kick up output to at least twice the 120 it comes with and 3x or 4x would work also. I appreciate any thoughts and help.
