Any 123a size battery should work with the Nuwai Quantum III.

My dumb self, i was concentrating on the spelling than what i meant to question. I meant the 4.2v rechargable 123s.

Craig from LED Museum has run the ones without Overdischarge Protection (the ones he got from 4sevens) in his Quantum III without issue. He notes the light tends to be a bit brighter, probably due to the higher voltage.

Now, I'm not going to guarantee that it won't kill your light more quickly, though - and you HAVE to take the cells out as soon as the light starts dimming, lest you kill the batteries.

Rechargable 123s are relatively new. JS Burly is selling some protected R123 cells+chargers at the moment. I do not thibk they have become a regular product at the moment, but he does have a quantity on hand. I suggest contacting him before ordering.
