I see that there are products to prevent battery rattles, and rattles are sometimes listed as a fault for some lights. I have some that rattle and I simply insert rolled up paper around the batteries.

Is there any danger with this?

Good. I should stuff some $5 bills in there just in case I need to purchase spares.

A piece of paper wrapped around the batteries is also a good place to write contact info - in case the light is lost. I've yet to hear of anyone having a lost light returned as a result, but it can't hurt.

It's the classic fix for everything - stick paper in the toes of your shoes, cram some tissue paper into loose wall holes for screws, put toilet paper in your bra (I have no personal experience with this), and put a little yellow sticky around my batteries before I put them into my Arc LSH-P, oh so many years ago.
