I've got two Incan Mags. A 2D and 4D, but they eat batteries like no tomorrow and that's getting expensive. I carry my 4D in the car as my self-protection as well as emergency light, but the light part never seems to work (dead batteries!). I love the flashlights for their solid construction, nice feel (love the weight) and ability to be used as a blunt object. There are some cool accessories out there as well.

I'd go to just a simple MagLED conversion, but that's no fun.

Malkoff drop-ins are cool, but I most definitely don't have that kind of money (poor college student).

So it's looking like I'm going to do a Terralux and maybe UCL Lense, but I heard this isn't necessarily the best option, although it may be the best bang for the buck.

In my newbie readings I've also noticed that the approach to a 2D and 4D is slightly different.

Then there is the SSC USX0H P4 conversion, which doesn't bother me too much as I think it'd be fun to tinker, so long as it isn't overly expensive.

Thoughts, Comments and Concerns?

The malkoff is highly recommended and worth the money... My friend got the $55 one, I forget what kind of emitter it has but its freaking bright and nice color too...

I believe the Malkoff dropin uses a SSC P4 emitter

===============================

Kaidomain DID sell a Mag dropin kit, Cree Q5 dropin, metal reflector
and clear lens for $36.99 BUT they are sold out now :(

I could always just buy some rechargables and save my money for one the Kaidomain kit comes back in stock.

I picked up the Terralux 6EX and wow, what an improvement. I can't see going much further beyond this, maybe a different glass, but jeez this thing is bright, and I've got the security of knowing it'll last for quite some time.

If I were you, I'd abandon the heavy bulky Mags and buy a nice and bright 2xAA light that gets good reviews around here along with a set of quality rechargeable batteries.

malkoff is way overpriced, their p7 bulb cost 120,
for 120 i bought l900 with the same p7 and 3 liion batts and a charger.

I'm planning on getting another Terralux for my 2D and calling it quits.

I've got smaller LED flashlights that don't need any upgrades, they work fine for what they are.
