Oldstyle steampunk in copper

An old R2 P60 drop-in + copper pipe + Romex - assembled using simple hand tools...








5-mode driver boost/buck driver - the spring off the drop-in helps secure the connection between the pill and the body





Head lights up through the clear epoxy used to bond the glass lens and wire bezel




I was going to gift it (down to earth friend thats not into shiny/gadgets) but now I'm thinking of keeping it for myself

What size pipe?

3/4" water pipe - got the idea when I noticed the outside diameter was very close to the P60 outside diameter and the pill was a close match for the inside diameter

The sprint off the drop-in is a tight fit inside the pipe, but the pill wont fit with the spring attached (unless you grind it down a little which would be easily done - I have a modified MC-E drop-in that did fit with the spring attached).

Nice work! Of course to really become steampunk it needs some brass fitments, scrollwork, and engraving / engine turning..... w/ a big brass on/off plunger-knob and a flip-down lens cover.

The whole steampunk thing is a little weird, and too H.G. Wells for me... yet there's a sense of romanticism about it that I like, and am drawn to. Definitely something aesthetically appealing about it when done well.
