Hi all, I just received an M21 and am really happy with it! However I can't help but wonder what the M30 would look like....

My question is:
Would a second 18650 give me the same results as the M30? If so, where can I find an extension tube or just the body from a M30?

I also like the idea of the mode button on the M30, would that switch function on my M21?

Thanks for helping a lurker out!

I cannot say for certain that the M30 switch will not fit but I doubt that it will switch the modes on the M21 like it does on the M30. I am curious to know myself. I'm thinking that with the M30 and M20S the driver board was moved from the base of the head to the tailcap, thus allowing on/off and mode switches to be in tailcap.

I would think by adding a extension tube and more batterys would give you more run time but the extension tube for the M-30 wouldn't be long enough. The M-30 holds 3 x 123s with out the extension tube. The switch may fit and should work but you may be putting more drain on the batterys.

I have a M20 and would love to have it with the same interface as the M30 I don't really want a MCE based M30 as I don't think it would reach any further but would just have more flood. Now if I could get a M30 designed tailcap that would bolt on any Solarforce or Surefire flashlight I'd take it in a second even at 50 bucks or more. (Triple XPG drop-in, single 18650 or 2x18650 including extension and a M30 interface.:twothumbs)

It wont work. The extension tube is an extension for 1 CR123, not a 18650. So you would need an extension that's double the length of the one that comes off an M30.
