Hi, I'm looking to buy two or three extra batteries and an external charger for the OLIGHT Perun 2 Mini.
But I'm reading conflicting info about the stock battery being "special".
So, I'm worried about buying 3rd party batteries plus an external charger.

Is this safe to do? If so, please feel free to recommend a brand.
Otherwise, I'll use my existing Nitecore i2 Intellicharge Charger and some random 16340 batteries I find on Amazon.

Thanks!

Btw, I contacted Olight chat support and they confirmed they do not have any external battery chargers.
And they said third party batteries do not work in the flashlight.

To make it even more confusing, Olight sell RCR123r 650Mah cells specifically for the Perun 2 mini. These do not state the 6c rating, so I have no idea how well these will work.

Proprietary batteries are a PITA. It took me years to source spares for my Nova H2 headlamp - first Olight Canada said they didn't have any, for a long time they didn't catalog the replacement battery, and finally the exact model was dropped and replaced with a slightly higher capacity model. But they also changed the labelling and it took a lot of digging to determine that the new battery worked in the old lamp. So, even staying inside Olight's "walled garden" is a disorienting experience. Even the hang card for the new replacement doesn't specifically list my H2 headlamp as compatible.

I like my headlamp, ( and my Baton S2R) but I do not like all the hassle of battery replacement that comes with the Olight system. I doubt that I will be ordering more Olight batteries or flashlights at least in 18650 /21700 formats.

I've had no trouble charging Olight batteries in an external LiIon charger. (The core battery is the same as everyone buys, so it's not clear to me why they claim this should not be done.)
