If there are any Ombu X-55 owners I'd like the straight skinny on this thing. It seems to be built like a Bradley (that's an amoured personal carrier), what's the runtime and does it get hot for a 5W unit? Is it more of a spot or a broadbeam? I ask because the company website does not show this model. What gives?

I can say it's more of a flood (broadbeam) than it is a spot. Let's see if I can dig up a beam photograph or two and maybe even a runtime analysis...BRB...

Beam photograph at 12"
Measures 282,000mcd on a Meterman LM631 light meter.
This flashlight has a wider-than-usual beam, that's
why this reading appears low for a 5 watt LED.

Battery discharge analysis chart.
Runs for 1 hour 30 minutes to 50% intensity, and 2 hours 20 minutes total.
Streamlight brand CR123A cells were used for this test.

I don't have any temperature measurements from when I was running the battery discharge analysis test, sorry about that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

O, before I forget...my evaluation of this flashlight is right here if you're interested. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the feedback! I've noticed that everyone has dropped the price my around 15% so I'd thought I'd try one.
