OMG - Surefire updated their website?!

Have I been away for so long that I haven't heard that Surefire updated their website with the new L1 (cree) specs?! It's been about a month since I was last here, did SF release the L1??
oh please say yes so I can order it now!

I think Surefire has opened a can of worms here. People ordering them will get the old ones. That's false advertising. Most people buying Surefires have to rely on them to be upfront and honest. They don't have access to the information we do.

I'm bummed out ! I got so excited that I yelled at the wife that I WILL be ordering the new L1 !! She was happy too - but I think because I talk about the new L1 so damn much, and thought just maybe she won't hear about it if I finally got my hands on it... *she would be wrong of course 🙂

It appears the pictures of the E1L, E2L, and L1 have been updated as well. They are now sporting a "KX1" head in the pictures on the Surefire web site. Woo-hoo! One step closer to the new lights... can't wait for that L1...

Apparently the keywords for a CREE version are "extended runtime LED" in the description:

and at present they only appear for E1L and E2L.

For L1 they mention an "improved performance" in the specs.

They do look nice. But as far as I'm concerned the low isn't low enough. 10 lumens is at least twice as much as I'd like for the low setting. That's really a shame, because the new L1 is one of the more interesting models they make.
