I believe there are many CPF'ers who would like to own parts or assemblies from the shoppe or elsewhere. Many CPF'ers don't have the tools or skills to assemble parts or kits as presented on the shoppe.

I'd like to offer fully assembled and tested assemblies. I can't do one at a time. This is too time consuming and multitasking is very inefficient.

If there is sufficient demand for a particular configuration and there is more than three and less than 20 or so I think this can be arranged where I assembled them and put them on the shoppe for purchase by those who requested it.

I'd like this discussion to generate interest and possibly ending up starting new threads for these special runs.

Any interest?

Possible items to kick start: Full TK two stage switch with tailcap. PR head or PR-T head builds.

Revenue generated from sales would allow me to bring to market some of the new converter boards I have in the works.

I'm sure this will be highly appreciated Wayne! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think this would be great for alot of members.

I see posts all the time, of ppl asking if someone can build a light for them.
They know they can get the parts, and may even have the parts, but they dont want to assemble them theirselves, for one reason or another.

Fully assembled heads sell well on b/s/t, so I think you will do well selling them off your site also.
Besides, you are a trusted member here, I think ppl will be comfortable buying assembled parts from you.
Especially if ppl can say what they want in the head, though that may cause alot more heartache for you.

Anything to get those new circuits on the shoppe Wayne !!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif
You just let us know if we can help you out any at all !!!

I don't know if this is what you're getting at, but how about something like D cell Maglite "sandwiches"? A lot of people are asking others to put together a D cell Mag LED conversion for them, so maybe you could pre-assemble some of them for the crowd that just wants to buy it and drop it in to their Mag?

Of course I would be in ... the "dummy"-compartment of the Shoppe sounds just like what I need!
McE2S TKs are the best start IMHO ... they're /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif HOT /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

The McE2S as turnkeys and maybe indeed complete heads - people could order the needed parts and add a fee for assembling - this way you would only need to build these that are wanted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif
Boards like the downboy already have the additional fee for soldering the resistors as a choice so this is done already.

Cannot think of anything else right now.

Wayne,

My suggestion is to borrow a page from some other forums where a separate "Modding/Construction Services For Sale" area is available for folks to list their contact information and construction services.

This would allow CPFers looking for assistance in building mods to locate those who are willing to provide those services.

Of course, folks who have their own web pages such as yours would have posts with links directly to their construction services area.

I in no way wish to diminish what you're proposing for the Sandwich Shoppe at all. I think it is laudatory and definately needed. My thoughts run to going a step further with Shasha adding this extra Forum area so that ALL those who might offer such services can be easily located.

I'd like to see complete heads also. Heads for SF E1 and E2, as well as the Longbow line (I hear that is close!) as well as TK 2 stage tailcaps for the SF's and the twisty and clicky Longbows. While I'm wishing, how about bodies? A 1x123, 2x123, etc. in HA Nat and black with bezel down clips to go with those heads and tailcaps. You could build your own personal light just the way you want it by ordering three parts!

Wayne,

Threads could be started here to indicate what products are wanted and when enough interest is generated, you could start a pre-sell on your website so you only have to build the ones that have been paid for.

This would minimize your risks so people can't suddenly back out after you have already assembled the parts.

I think it would be great. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'm always with Bernhard in the 'Dummies' department. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Wayne. I guess it must've been my bugging you on this topic earlier. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

McE2S TKs, completed PR(T) heads, complete flashlights (when Aleph bodies are done).

I'm with Bernhard and Flashlight....but I'm also all thumbs!

Aloha

Hi Wayne,

After having messed up my first sammie badly, I fully support your idea. I'm already thinking of several Mag mods and for my Peli M6, but I can't really afford to kill and replace every other component I buy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

K-T's idea of ordering the parts and having an option for "assembly charges" sounds good. I hear a lot of people referring to this as the "dummies" section; makes for a catchy, funny name, IMHO.

Good luck!!

OOh! Me! Me!
How about some PR-Ha heads with MM+WO driving a T rank Lux III to go with the 2AA battery packs (3X123 with the sleeve) or the long awaited UBHs?

I'm also in for a simple Mag conversion kit. A single assembled unit: Lux III, hotlips, Ecan and Badboy. I think that the attachment to the switch could be done by the user(?). Would the reflector still work? Anyway, my preference would be C-cell mag.

If this will generate cashflow needed to give us more cool stuff, I'm all for it. I assume the DIY parts will not be affected. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Full TK two stage switch with tailcap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
PR head or PR-T head builds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'm with Bernhard, Flashlight and BigHonu. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

Mclux TK in various finishes (black, brass,) and cell configurations (1x123, 2x123, 3x123). PR and PR-T with 5W.
Clickie tailcaps for various popular lights.
