Well I completed my research and have came up with a combination of flashlight, battery, and charger that I think will work for my needs. I will use this light for hunting. This will be my first high end flashlight. I have decided on the Olight M20 warrior premium with Eagletac 18650 batteries and a AW 139 charger. Would you guys agree on the above for a first timer? If not, why?

The olight M20 is a nice flashlight but for what it offers, it is little pricy. No regulation with 18650 and short runtime. Throw isnt as great for its size.

If you don't need so many modes (which I know you won't need em) and only need a high and low, I recommend Fenix TK11R2.

Why?
-Easy to use
-Tough, reliable
-Bright
-Flat regulation and amazing runtime on high almost 3 hours with my AW cell. Almost 23 hours on medium mode.

-Eagletac cells are a nice choice.
-AW 139 charger is the same as the Ultrafire WF-139 charger. You can get it half price at DX.

If you don't like the fenix, the Eagletac T100C2 is a nice choice as well. I own both and trust me these are high efficiency flashlights. You don't want to run out of light after 1.5 hours..

You might want to get a better charger like the PILA IBC and save yourself some money in the long run. It charges lithium ion batteries properly, and includes the final stage of the charging process (where the voltage is held constant and the current is gradually decreased), which I believe that most of the cheap DX chargers do not have. It will also be less likely to fail.

If you are going to use your light for hunting skip all that stuff and grab yourself a FENIX TK 20.Trust me It uses 2XAA has a great warm tint meaning that it looks more like an incandescent then an led the throw is very good and it is tough as nails.Read up on it and see what you think.

Instead of olight i would also suggest to look at Jetbeam pro III Military.

i got tk11 myself and i do like it.. but if i would be buying similar one now, i would probably choose jetbeam instead.. or the eagletac. eagletac for slightly better runtime (althou i havent really ran out of battery yet.) and jetbeam because of the lower low. (as i do use it as edc sometimes too)

tk20 for outside use is a good option too. decent runtime and throw. rubbergrip for colder weather. easy to find batteries. warmer tint (greens and browns of the nature look more "natural") and cheaper :)

What do you use a light for when hunting?

Personally, I would be looking at something more along the lines of a headlamp like the Zebralight H501w for getting around in the dark.

If I actually thought I might need some throw occasionally, maybe a SF 6P or similar host and Malkoff M60WL with a FM34. Even better, for a more compact dual mode light, something like a SF E1L or E2L(preferably modded with a neutral emitter) and F04 diffuser.
btw, you will want a diffuser for general use with any of those lights-and that Olight if you do buy it.

For a special purpose light, think twice about buying a dedicated charger and rechargeables. It will take a long time for them to pay for themselves unless you're using them regularly.
The ones I use at work(night shift, and LOTS of flashlight use) are the best thing that every happened to me, battery-wise. The dozens of others, along with several chargers bought along the way, have been a total waste.

Thanks for the replies. Back to my research. I would never have thought there would have been so many options.

Owen-
I need the light for tracking deer, nighttime coyote hunting, nighttime varmint hunting, and shining. I have a headlamp for walking in.

Your choice is ok to me! I just carry a RA light with 18650 tube because it is made like a tank and has three levels, though I mainly use the low for walking in the dark. I also use the light for other things as well. Use to have a Minimag and thought it was the best, lol!! That was before I found this forum!!

I thought my minimag was awesome. My 3AAA coleman max from wally world was the greatest thing ever. Sadly, I realize I don't know jack about flashlight technology but I am trying to educate myself. I just don't want to make a mistake with my first high end light and end up regretting it.
