Does anybody know if it is possible to only order an L1 head without the light?

I recently made the same inquiry with Dan, with the same response. I was considering purchasing an L1 if I could swap the LED colors (red or white).
 
That's what I hoped. Cheap dumb replacement heads in various colors. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
 
i recall the bezel of the L1 i had a while back could not be unscrewed...are they secured with loctite or something?
