Overnight truckdriver

Hello, I work overnight as a truck driver. I need a cheap flashlight that I can do a pretrip inspection, so I can inspect brake shoes from the other side of the trailer with a throw of at least 10 feet. I don't drive the same truck every night, and some trucks don't have an interior light so I don't want to blind myself when I turn the flashlight on inside the cab. I don't want to spend too much money in case I lose it. Any suggestions?

Your wanting a specific battery type? And what do you consider cheap? Am a driver myself. Most AA keychain lights would do what your asking. Putting it on a split ring/swivel with a detach or on a small d-ring to allow disconnecting and reattaching with ease will help keep it safe.

Inside the tractor at night, 15 lumen or so is plenty. Some even prefer red. I prefer a minimum of 200 for the inspection as checking the trailer for damage, less sometimes makes it difficult to see.

What's your price range? Batteries? Beam pattern?

At lower price, check out Shiningbeam, Fenix's E series, maybe even Olights T series. Zebralight's lights have a nice low low, and so do Fourseven's Quark series, but they could be more they you are willing to spend.

Had an Olight T10 for a couple years and its been rock solid. I prefer the cr123 T10, but the AA based T15 is just as good.

I prefer NiMH AA, $20 to $30 range. I have been using a LED Mini Mag that works OK for checking for damage but it blinds me for a second, in the cab.

Will set you back about $15.

Then as Tmedina said, those are solid worry free lights. Or a T15 would work for you as well as long as you like the UI. Twist head for modes, rear click for on/off. It comes on in last mode, has a lo, med, hi, and strobe.

I am no stranger to lithium batteries. I checked out the price on eBay for the Olight T10 is around $50. Any leads on where to get one cheaper

I don't see the Olight T10, but the T15 is $30 at Batteryjunction. I don't think any lights in this price range have a decent low (decent low = 1 lumen or lower).

Vortus I am a registered member and supporter of cpf marketplace. I have yet to have any luck getting the best deal before it got sold. I have only been registered for a month. So I will keep checking
