P2D or battery issue?

I have a P2D from Fenix.
There's one problem, I've dropped the P2D twice (less than 2ft each drop) onto concrete/pavement. Each time the light goes dead, but I replace the battery and all is fine. Are cr123's known for this or is it the light?

If yo tried placing the battery that was dropped with the light back in and the light won't work, then it is probably a battery problem.

I've never heard of this problem before. Maybe someone else can help.
