p7 heatsink removal

i ordered this. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12721
my question is, how do i safely remove the emitter from its heatsink? the heatsink i ordered wont work with it. thanks!

Desolder the LED legs from the heat sink. Then you place the heat sink in a vice and use plyers to bend the heat sink until the emitter falls off. Make sure something is below the vice to catch the emitter.

It's a lot easier if you heat it too; after desoldering the legs, I hold the mcpcb with a pair of pliers above a heat gun that's pointed up. With a little bit of heat, the LED can be gently lifted off with another pair of pliers.

Alternatively, hold the emitter with a pair of pliers (that is, hold the plastic part or the leads, not the dome, of course), and hold it above the heat gun, with the mcpcb down. Shake for a while and soon enough the mcpcb will fall off.

hold the broad with plyers and use the main body of your soldering iron to warm up it up untill the led fall off on to some thing soft don't waste any time trying to desolder the feet this way the fall of quick and easy! heat gun sounds a good way too
these are flood solder to the broad and be careful, the one's i got turn out to be I bins 3.25v to 3.50v and not J bins as the forward voltage is higher at 3.5v to 3.75v
