Are the various pieces & parts from different manufacturers typically hit & miss when it comes to compatibility? I bought a FiveMega 2x18650 C head C tail body and a Lighthound stainless C head so I could make up a longer version of my Surefire 9P. The old Surefire 9P head will screw onto the FiveMega body just fine, and the Lighthound head screws onto the Surefire body just fine, but the Lighthound head will NOT screw onto the FiveMega body more than a fraction of a turn! I gave it some extra torque using a wrench, but it didn't seem to be going and I didn't want to risk stripping the threads by really torquing it down.
I can obviously use the Surefire head on the FiveMega body and the Lighthound head on the old Surefire body, but that wasn't my original plan. I was wondering if this sort of mismatching is typical or do I just happen to have a couple of parts which may have tolerance stackups that are working against me? Thanks.
