The stainless steel bodied Peak LED Solutions lights with the SSC P4 are pretty appealing, but I'd like more info before shelling out the cash. These don't seem to have many posts here (no fun due to single mode operation?) Has anyone posted beamshots or runtimes on these?

They are built like tanks.... single mode of operation is very reliable and gold plated solid brass contacts ....

Highly recommended.

Look at the Peak Forum over at the CPF MarketPlace. There is less activity there than in this LED forum, but it is Peak specific.

I have that light (stainless with SSC) and the Aluminum version with the Luxeon. Both my Pacifics are the HP version. The SSC doesn't seem much brighter except in the spill. It also seems to be a bit on the greenish side but not objectionably so and only on white walls.

I think some users have reported that the SSC versions actually had a slightly lower drive current so should have longer runtime with similar brightness.

If I were to judge the SSC solely by this example I would insist on Cree.

The Peak Pacific is a great light. Mine is bright on batteries that don't power my single AA wall clock anymore.
