I readily admit that I do not completely understand the chromaticity regions in LED specs like this one for the Cree XP-G but I believe I understand the tables regarding the efficiency bins, CCT, etc. All of the recent Peak technical information references the XP-G R5 LED (highest efficiency available until very recently I believe) and it looks like the XP-G R5 (139-148 Lumens @350ma) is available from 5000K through 8300K (Cool white). Which brings me to a few questions.

  1. What color (CCT) XP-G R5 LED is Peak using?
  2. Are lights available with something Neutral like a 4000K-5000K R4 emitter?
  3. What about something with the new High CRI emitters from Cree?
I really like the idea of the soon to released Brass Night Patrol with variable output but I'm leaning away from Cool Whites after comparing different lights. Most of my light usage is outdoors and I really like the depth and realism that the neutrals have compared to the flat, greyish light of the Cool whites.
