I am new to the NiMH battery scene- but from the research I have done- the Sayo Eneloops seem to be quite good, so I purchased some. Something about their makeup that lessens the gradual discharge (LSD). Eric from MillerMods seems to recommend them and I recall a conversation with Curt @ Peak who said the NiMH batteries in general would provide a longer flat runtime. The only drawback I see is the weight- as the Eneloops seem to be at least 2 times heavier than the L92 AAA energizer Lithium cells.
From the initial charge- the Eneloop seems to be almost as bright as the Lithium. Supposedly the optimal performance is reached after 4-5 complete cycles.
Any thoughts/experiences?

Use nothing but LSD in my AA/AAA EDC lights, but I put E2 Lithiums in any store lights that I need to depend on. I use Eneloops, Ray-O-Vac hybrids and Duracell Precharged (rebranded Eneloops) LSD batteries with good success.

How the Eneloops perform vs. the L91/L92 will vary depending on the circuit in the light, but the L91/L92 will usually outperform the Eneloops. The lithiums have more energy capacity, higher voltage, and also have very flat discharge curves.

I use Eneloops because of their price/performance ratio, which really can't be beat by any AA/AAA battery that I know of.
