The person that came and did a pressure test on my fathers gas line said that half the lights they get from pelican are DOA, she then went on to say they throw them away when they break. The light was a sabrelight incandesent. Is this possible that they would toss a light that has a lifetime warranty?

Maybe so. It might just be too much of a hassle for them to send lights back for warranty service. You should strike up a deal with him to get those lights before they hit the trash bin and repair them yourself or send them in for warranty service.

hi Flashburn 72, you may like to leave your contacts with them. you could collect enough of them and get 3rd party drop-ins & re-sell them. the trip may be worth the gas. :grin2:

... or the hydrogen pellets reaching its end-of-life?

WOW! What a conundrum that company is. After talking to three different people I dont think it is worth the hassle to try to get free lights. I wont give up though.

My bet is they didn't tighten the bezels down properly, my safety rated Pelican mightylight never wanted to work unless the bezel was screwed down "just so". A quarter turn too tight or too loose and it wouldn't want to light sometimes. That or the lights included batteries and they were dead.
