Ohhhhh yeah ...I just got done building my first luxIII light. Oh baby!!! The only thing is the beam shot looks like a hotspot slightly off center of a square. Is this normal or did I screw up centering the lp with the emitter?? I just think I could get a tighter beam but maybe not. Any suggestions???

Congrats! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

All the optics are notoriously difficult to center. A perfectly centered optic will have the central hotspot squarely in the middle of the square flood portion of the beam. If you have a light with a front bezel you can unscrew the bezel slightly and tap the head until it lines up. Then re-tighten the bezel. Repeat until it's centered.

Takes a while this way, but I get it to line up correctly every time.

If, like me, you didn't get the emitter centered when your epoxied it, there is little hope for centering the optic.

Sometimes the diode is off center in the emitter. There's nothing you can do to fix that.
