Phosphor vs no Phospor

What is the difference?

I'm trying to learn more about LEDs, in particular low power draw and long life LEDS(Like Nichia CS)

Phosphor is for white LEDS other colors don't require phosphor.

Monochromatic LED's don't need phosphor, but anything else needs it to emit multiple wavelengths.
