Photon ReX shipment delayed...BUMMER!!

I called Photon today to see if the ReX was still on schedule to ship October 10th and was told that LRI informed them that there is a delay - no details as of yet. BUMMER!!!!!!

The new ARC AAA will be out with the Nichia DS LED before the ReX.

Photon doesn't seem to have any delay when it comes to charging my credit card on a preorder.:shakehead At least ARC waits until they actually ship to charge you.

Not surprised either. Hoping they're fixing a bug rather than just delaying it for convenience, at least it won't be the Proton all over again, a polished final product.

More curious when these new LEDs are coming out. I'm planning on starting a collection of the alternate-colored Freedoms (Ritter, Camo, etc), but I'm waiting for them to upgrade the LEDs they use.

Good thing I rarely ever preorder. Guess it'lll be another (couple?) months before I get to play with that little battery vampire. :devil:

Hopefully though the Cree Proton comes out sooner than later. But if they are indeed consistent it may be a year.

Does anyone remember the time elapsed since the first announcement of the original Proton and the delivery of the actual product? I didn't follow it too closely (I wasn't too interested in the product), but I do remember that it was starting to feel like the Duke Nukem Forever of flashlights. :laughing:
