A couple weeks ago I ordered a Solarforce L2 because I needed(wanted) a good flashlight for an upcoming night land navigation test(I'm in the Army). Unfortunately the Solarforce was sent home instead of here to FT Benning. So I figured, having a second light isn't a bad idea. I went to the PX and they had 6P's for 45 bucks. If I had known I probably wouldn't have ordered the L2. I picked up a P61 for it and a streamlight red filter. I'm not sure I am going to use the P61 for the land nav test due to the decreased run time. However it sure is bright. I am definitely impressed with the quality of the light. Now I can't wait to see the Solarforce. The Solarforce will likely become my everyday carry light and the 6P will sit on my nightstand.

Anyway, thanks for all the great info on here.

They both seem to be pretty nice lights. I have both although my L2 has the face gouger on it ( crenelated bezel?). Rest assured that the Surefire is a great light that will last forever and a day. Always use my 6P at work for looking into crevices and hard to reach areas. Most people are all "man that thing is bright" when they get a taste. For even more fun, add a 1 cell extender and a p90 lamp. :)

I love the Fulton anglehead. A little bulky and heavy for the times though. Much better with a PR2 led drop in module like the one from dorcydirect for $10 shipped. For a non crenelated option for your solarforce try this one at lighthound. for $4 plus nominal shipping it's worth it to keep your pockets from wearing holes.
