I've been meaning to start a thread on this light, it's pretty neat looking, but I wish that it used the more common LR44 like the SL Nano, those can be bought relatively cheap at Walmart by the checkout with the laser pointer/LED light combo for under 3 bucks for 6.

I have both the eGear Pico Light and the SL Nano. I thought the batteries were the same. Some observations I've noticed...the Nano is brighter. The finish on the Pico seems like it will last longer (I have a Nano on my keychain; just recently got the Pico and have yet to put it on). The battery holder in the Pico is made very well. Overall, the Nano has performed flawlessly for me, but a friend who I gifted one to almost lost it when the battery compartmet came undone. They found both ends, but lost 2 of the 4 batteries...I replaced the batts for them. The Pico overall feels like it's better made...plus a percentage of it's sale goes to benefit Doug Ritter's Equipped to Survive. Lastly, I think the Photon Freedom, or at least Photon 2, may be a better choice. I have a Freedom on my keychain with the Nano...I think the reason I haven't and won't lose the Nano is that I like twisting it on and off during the day...most non-flasholics probably only use a keychain light when needed. BTW, I have a red, blue, and titanium colored Picos. The red is red, but has a pinkish hue. The blue is a lightish color. The titanium is titanium in color and doesn't have much color difference in the bare aluminum head.

Good luck,
MK

that's a cutie :) I have a streamlight nano on my keys and love it to death (gets a fair bit of use) only thing I dislike is that it's not a reverse twisty. I wish I could torque it tight and not have it loosen up till I need it. Only once has it actually come undone in my pocket but still what good is a light when the batteries and emitter are on a grocery store floor miles away when you need it? Might pick this lil guy up and give it a shot on my keys.

My mistake, the Nano also uses LR41 cells. Would Teflon tape help keep the Nano's head on?

I forgot to double check the batteries...just went off from what I could remember. I should have opened the lights...but thanks for checking! :twothumbs I don't know about the Teflon tape. I guess it would. I've used to to make titanium lights smoother. Depending on how much I've used (one full wrap around or more), it can make it easier or more difficult to turn on and off. I should have tried that for my friend. Next time I see here, I'll try to remember to do that. Thanks for the good idea!

Thank you

Teflon tape is not really ideal for the purpose you are using it for,it is more for non opening threads more a plumbers mate sealer.

not ideal, but it works wonders on smoothing out the threads.

What is good is a teflon crayon stick and invented by you guys as well,I use to sell it as a direct replacement for ptfe tape many years ago, does the same job without all the white tape bits.

Hmm, $10 bucks vs $100 for the LPK...

As for the LR41's, they're cheap as hell if you look around.
