Archeologist's working in the Netherlands have unearthed an interesting fragment--leading to speculation that Mondrian may have been a machinist, as well as a painter:

For the moment, further research is needed to determine the usefulness of Mondrian's creation, if it were his.

Completed the domed tail cap.

In the real world, i.e., when the Trit sphere is installed by the new owner, the tail cap will not glow that brightly--for now the secret is one of these:

WOW! Just when I thought the Luci couldn't get any better. This is beautiful! You're going to have one luck customer.

It is beautiful. Are you making Luces again?

I am making Luce de Notte bodies--but not complete pieces with a Trit sphere. I bore out the reflector to the appropriate size, but the user will have to install his own Trit sphere using optical epoxy--well, actually in my new iteration, any epoxy will work, to be honest. The epoxy only needs to be applied to the rear of the sphere, not between the reflector and the sphere, as I used to do. The new application method results in a much cleaner looking installation.

E-mail me if you are interested and I will send you my current prices for the Luce, although I'm always interested in custom designs.

well, the rating will drop down by 1/2 in 12-13 years:)
i think it might be more useful to see picture of it exposed in complete dark.

someone mentioned that you could read from the book by holding one near, so it should be minimum that:)

Here's my runtime chart of your average Tritium - it should be pretty close to your average new Trit vial/sphere, assuming you're getting it recently after it was produced.

As for the brightness, in total darkness, it can light your way while walking. But otherwise, my 18mm green sphere can light a book while you're reading, without any strain on my eyes. But depending on the size/color/brightness of your sphere, and your night vision, YMMV. :D
