I have a 5 year old Pila charger that has served me well, but has developed a problem here lately. The charger is real finicky with the power cord plug connecting to the charger. The charger sometimes just cuts off before the cells are charged. I fiddle with the connector and it's starts working again. The charger works otherwise the way it's suppose to. Would it be possible to direct wire the power cord to the charger and bypass the connectors altogether?

Re: Pila Charger problem

Why not shorten the power cord a a bit and solder a new connector on it?
You can also open the Pila and check if the soldering of the power connector looks bad.

Re: Pila Charger problem

It could also be the connector on the circuit board, the solder may have cracked over time with use. Try re flowing the solder around the connector.

I just opened up the charger and everything was intact on the board. After putting it back together, I fiddled with the inside of the female end on the charger plug and attempted to raise the little metal ramp inside. The charger appears to work fine now. Hopefully a connection issue is all it was.
