Can anyone tell me if Pila light is similar to wolfeyes? Is pila GL4R/GL3R any good? Does the Liion rechargeable last long time. Does the beam spot remain round/ any donut shape.
I need lots of info. Is the lens made of Pyrex like Surefire? There is very little info on Pila light or wolfeyes in this forum.

Pila=Wolfeyes

I have the GL4RL.

R=supplied with Pila batteries
L=supplied with LED tailcap

There are several threads on these two lights. There is a pass around on the GL3 with pages and pages of posts. Look in group buys/ pass arounds.

Pilas tend to produce a huge white hot spot. They throw a good even wall of light.

I recently got a GL3R and love it. The hotspot is not as crisp as in some others but it is very bright and smoothly blends to spill. Looks like a solid wall of light. The LED end is worthwhile also. Fine light.

These are both excellent lights and put out bright, smooth beams. Pila's are extremely well built as well.

The GL3R is my favorite light of all of my lights from Surefire, Laser Devices and Pila (all high end manufacturers). The build quality is outstanding, beam is bright and smooth and the LED's are very usefull. Also, an SF P91 lamp will work in it with only a very slight modification although you lose the momentary on function with the P91 lamp.

Overall, I think the Pila batteries deliver at least as good performance as 123's and maybe better.

I hope that this helps.

In my GL3R the P91 still has momentary function using the clickie switch /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

I had the GL3R pass-around kit, and just sent it off to the next CPF'r. I really liked it for the versatility of the LED tail cap, the longevity of the rechargeable cells and the brightness of the xenon.

Not only is it small enough to be always on the duty belt, but it is as bright or brighter than most standard duty lights (Mag, Stinger).

If I had the money, I would buy a GL3R, or GL3XR or GL4R, with white LED tail cap, and have the LEDs replaced as per another thread on this forum.

picard, check my sigline; the passaround is sponsored by JSBurlys.com Post *there* and/or PM me if you're interested in checking out the light. Also, check the reviews section, Pilas are really nice lights.

thanks for the info guys. I will get GL4R rechargeable. I need it for searching street signs since I have notorious reputation for getting lost; my internal compass is disrupted when I am in a car. Thank god. I am not a police officer or paramedic. I am a networking guy(techie). I drive to client sites alot in different cities and come home at night. That's when I get lost. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Picard - good choice. It's brighter than Surefires M3. In the future look into the GL2 which uses the same batt.

As far as getting lost...should I...why not...take a look at some of the several GPS + Geocaching threads.
