Please help me understand CR123's

Help Support Candle Power:

Good point, KiwiMark. Now that I am starting to embrace Eneloops and saying goodbye to evil alkalines, I have experienced those same thoughts with my AA and AAA lights and I enjoy playing them even more than before. When I have the money, I think I will look into making the switch to rechargeables for my CR123 needs too.

I have just gotten some new LiFePO4 16430 cells for my Surefire A2 - it works OK on normal Li-ion cells, but it really isn't designed for up to 8.4V. I don't want to damage my Surefire, but I don't want to be using primaries either - so I am going with the closest rechargeable batteries I could find in size & voltage to the primaries that Surefire intend me to use. With 2 sets and the ability to recharge them as often as I feel like I don't mind the shorter run time from these cells.

I am glad I bought one of these chargers:

With that I use magnets to connect any size or shape battery or batteries I like and I can charge at any rate (0.1A to 5A) I like and it works with any chemistry currently available (Pb, NiCd, NiMH, LiFE, LiMN, LiCo, LiPO). I can charge 10440 cells through to 32600 cells and everything in between. Once you have a good charger you just find yourself buying whatever rechargeables you need to use in whatever needs them.
