I have been messing around with my MagCharger and the universal smart charger I bought a year ago I have been trying to get the charger to charge my Mag thru use of the craddle but the problem I am running into is because of the diode that is in the positive charging ring on the MagCharger. I suppose the charger is not detecting the need to charge because of that diode. The charger I have is this one http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3005. Does anyone know a way around this without removing the diode? I would like to keep the diode to prevent it from shorting. Anyone have any suggestions on what charger I can use that would work? Maybe a charger that does not auto detect the voltage... I need a charger that is a smart one in the sense of detecting when the battery is full so it cuts the power off to prevent overcharging, and I also would like it to be able to charge the battery fairly quickly in several hours,1amp,2amp etc. Any suggestions....

Most peak detection chargers need to read the batteries voltage, in order to detect the voltage drop that signals that the battery has reached capacity.

The diode prevents this, thus most peak detection chargers will not work correctly with lights that have this type of set-up (i.e. Magcharger, Streamlight Stinger, SL series, etc).
