Aloha,

I need to get a light for my wife. It's only to be seen by cars...since she doesn't right at night.

I had a Princeton Tech Eos on her bike for the last year. The poorly designed clip has broken two times. Their service is excellent and the last time they sent me a the EOS headlamp and we called it even.

So, what I need is something simple that preferably has only one mode...on and off. Simple....a multi mode Fenix would overwhelm her.

After 8 years on her cherry Bridgestone MB-1 she still hasn't figured out how to adjust the derailers properly. But, that's not the most important thing to seek in a woman although it's hard to understand. I try to keep my mouth shut but sometimes I have to say "adjust the lever on the right a little."

I'll mount it with a two fish bracket or something similar.

AA or 2 AA would be ideal with decent run time.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Buy a D10, set the brightness, tell her to twist it on and off and leave the button on the back alone. Sorted :)

An E01 is brighter than most bike lights as well, and comes single mode only.

Unfortunately it seems hard to get a single mode AA light that outputs 40 lumens or so with a decent emitter, which is a shame because I'd really like something like that.

i would recommend something that flashes if it only needs to be seen by cars rather than lighting anything.

yeah it's not AA but these things last long and aaa is smaller and lighter. since you were using aaa for your eos i wouldn't think it would be a problem.

something like this would be enough.

or ziptie your new eos onto her bike.

at least your wife puts on her lights. i have to turn on the lights(rear/front) for my wife like a kid otherwise she would forget.
it's not like i'm being overprotected. we're sharing the streets with nyc cabs.:naughty:

Love my Fenix L2D on strobe mode during the day. Battery life is not huge...2-3 hours, but very very bright.

Semiman

I agree with SemiMan. With a Fenix L2D, just make sure it is twisted to turbo mode. Then all she has to deal with is on and off.

Later you can show her strobe mode if she half pushes it while on. Super Dave's wife seems like she has similar abilities with technical things as mine does. :twothumbs

Please remember that different countries have different laws - in Denmark, there are requirements for side-visibility, so ordinary flashlights are (like Fenix L2D, E0 etc.) are no good. Why not just a regular "bikelight" like Sigma or Cateye?
