So, as those of you familiar with this issue can see, this raises the Emitter a little higher into the PMR reflector. I Think a aluminum ring would do the same job as these 2 "O" rings used as a spacer between the Mag body and the LIP of the Hot Lips.
I found this because i realized that I had not glued the Hot lips into the Mag lite yet. So I fiddled around a bit and came up with this. This is a temporary fix but it works perfectly. I want to use an aluminum ring as a permanent fix. Anyone know where I can get one?

Great idea! Perfect for those who can't/won't get the head machined for the fix. I wonder how much this will affect thermal transfer to the Mag body. I guess it doesn't seem like much if any.

As for your thoughts on the alumn ring, maybe for mods on newer Mag Cs (w/ "C" before the serial) not requiring the sleeve, you could cut off a portion of the sleeve and use this as the spacer?

Good idea Yaesu /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Be careful to leave enough contact between the Hotlips and the OAC body for heat transfer. Darky's idea about the Sleeve would work on newer OACs. The Sleeve would need to be cut to ~5mm high (looking at your photo). Perhaps our friends with lathes can help? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke2.gif
