Looking for a strobe LED warning light (not light bar) with magnetic base that flashes blue and red. I've seen them zooming past me but it was way to fast to see the manufacturers name /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif I'm issued with a blue only zenon strobe and want to "upgrade" to the red/blue LED version.

I know that someone here has the relevant information! Thanks in advance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

DaveH: It's "Whelen"

tadbik: Are you allowed to use red? Here in the states as a volunteer in NJ, we are allowed to use Blue, however the Chief can use blue and red. I would make sure before you start using other colors. Also look up "911ep". The make excellent lights that are small and bright, but they are expensive. They use Luxeons infact.

i saw one of these out of state...talk about rubber-necking! seeing those things really catches your attention alone...very very bright and vivid

They have blue/red LED strobes on the sides of police motorcycles in Seattle. I saw them last year at the Seafair parade (late July or early August), and they WERE bright and vivid.

They appear to be rectangular, approximately 8" long by 4" high. I don't know how deep they are, so please don't ask. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

A couple of years ago, Israel police decided to go over to red and blue after experiments showed that the red was better in daylight, blue at night. It will take time before all units are issued red/blue flashers. There is no written permission to use emergency lights as long as it's on police business. Being late for dinner wouldn't quite count!

Thanks all for the suggestions.
