Today we learned that Karl Malden, the Academy Award-winning actor whose American Express ads made famous the catch phrase "Don't leave home without it," has died. In his honor I thought it'd be fun to ask what flashlight is your true "don't leave home without it" light, your absolute EDC. Mine remains the McGizmo Ti PD-S:

I find it hard to leave the house without having at least one McGizmo clipped to my waistband, some days it will be a LS27, recently it is a LS20. Having the Death Grip Clip makes it so easy to EDC.

I don't leave home without a whole slew of lights, but my pick is a stock Photon ReX. Not as pretty, bright or cutting edge as some other lights maybe, but still one heck of a basic, functional, all-around light. Rechargeable from stock batteries, to boot.

MY G2 w/M60LLF is always in the Jeep.

My Fenix LD01 is on my Keys

My DX Zoom light has a good spot in my pockets and always with me.


As soon as I get my Malkoff E-Series bezel w/Aleph 17500 body, then I will replace the Zoom light, but the other 2 lights will also always be with me.:D

Zebra H501 is "nearly" always in a pocket.

For me it's the Novatac 85P and SF U2 - multiple level lights with long runtimes should there be a need for it.

For me, I never leave home without my Eagletac P10A. If i feel i need a back up light, i bring along my Romisen RC-N3.

The light I never leave home without is my LiteFlux LF2X. It is small enough to clip on my pocket and practically disappear until I need its illumination.

For me, the one I have with me the most is the Ti Draco on my neckchain. Put it on when I wake up, take it off when I go to bed. Even if I'm just walking out to the mailbox, I've got the Draco with me.

But whenever I leave the house to go anywhere, my EDC usually has three additional lights:
Arc AAA in the wallet, Fenix L0D-CE on the keychain, and a Surefire E1B in the pocket.

For work I replace the E1B with a set of three lights:
Zebra H60 on the suspenders, Ultrastinger on the belt, and P4 modded LedLenser V2 in the tool pouch.
