So, yesterday I got my laser from Deal Extreme, open it up, it's nice, alot brighter than my Core and actually feels realy nice + well made. Bla bla, then last night, some American kids were playing with it and they had it held on for like 5 minutes at a time:sigh:. i know I should have told them and all that, but I was busy with something else. Then they were taking pictures, writing their names with long exposure on their camers. I get it back and when I turn it on, It is bright (like it was) then after a 1/2 second, it drops power to like half and then the beam is not visible at all.
Did the diode overheat and go :poof:? Or what?
I really need this to be fixed, since I'm sending this down to a shop in a different city, because they want to buy some like this week:crazy:.

SO now what do I do?:mecry:

Is ther something I can do/ test?

After leaving it overnight, it was okay, shining at a constant power, but now, tonight, after using it a bit today, it started doing it again. Please help....

The first time I noticed the drop in power, I put in new batteries, and it still did the same thing, I tried it now and it seems fine. Why would that be? I will keep you posted about what is happenning... What is the duty cycle on these lasers anyway??
Thanks ALot:twothumbs

What batteries are you using? I find Eneloop AAA NiMH or Energizer lithium primaries work best.

I was using the standard Alkalines that came with the Laser. I'm getting eneloops soon. (already bought them)

Let us know how you get on - NiMH and Lithium primaries are better suited to higher drain applications.
